It’s a surgical procedure that involves transferring existing hair rather than creating new hair. Surgeons transfer hair follicles from donor areas, depending on their hair density (approximately 3000 to 7000 follicles), without significantly affecting the surrounding area.
Surgeons then implant these follicles into the balding area, resulting in a full head of hair that grows just like natural hair.
The surgery typically takes 6 to 8 hours; in some cases, it can take up to 10 hours, especially with high-density hair transplants, as the duration depends primarily on the number of follicles transplanted.
After the surgery, the patient rests for two days and washes their hair on the third day, thus completing the entire procedure.
*For patients coming from outside Turkey, they must arrive and rest a day before the surgery, making the total duration four days.
The final, desired results appear six to eight months after the surgery. However, it’s important to note that transplanted hair goes through growth and shedding phases before settling and growing again after about three months.
The recovery period after a hair transplant typically ranges from seven to ten days. During this time, all traces of the procedure disappear, and the scalp returns to its natural appearance.
On the other hand, the patient can resume their normal life a day or two after the procedure, provided that their daily activities are not strenuous or pose a risk to the transplanted area.
